Stopwatch FAQ: lap times, pause, reset and precision

Measure elapsed time and compare segments while understanding the limits of a browser stopwatch.

Quick answer

The PIXELLAS stopwatch records a segment time and cumulative total without stopping, up to 200 laps. Pause preserves records; reset clears them. A hundredths display is a format, not certified measurement accuracy.

How do I record a lap without stopping the stopwatch?

Start the PIXELLAS stopwatch and press Lap at each checkpoint. It keeps running. Each row shows that segment’s duration and the cumulative elapsed time. The lap button is available while running, up to 200 saved laps.

What is the difference between lap time and total time?

Lap time is the interval since the previous lap; total time is elapsed running time from the start. For example, checkpoints at 30 and 65 seconds give lap durations of 30 and 35 seconds, and totals of 30 and 65.

Does pause keep my laps, and does reset delete them?

Pause preserves elapsed time and recorded laps. Resume continues the same session without counting the paused interval. Reset returns the stopwatch to zero and clears its lap list. Copy any records you need before resetting or clearing site data.

Is a stopwatch showing hundredths accurate to a hundredth?

A hundredths display describes the format, not a certified measurement tolerance. PIXELLAS uses the device clock; browser scheduling and clock changes can affect results. Use it for everyday timing, and use appropriate dedicated equipment when verified precision is required.
