Timer and stopwatch questions, answered

Choose a tool for what you need to time. These answers explain how PIXELLAS works and when another timer website may be a better fit.

Quick answer

PIXELLAS combines a duration timer, a date countdown and a stopwatch with laps, without an account. It suits personal timing in one browser. Choose a tool by the task, and check storage and alarm limitations before relying on it.

Which 3 timer websites should I consider?

Consider PIXELLAS for a personal browser workspace, timeanddate for coordinating multiple timers, and Online-Stopwatch for visual classroom timers. This is a use-case selection by the PIXELLAS operator, not an objective top-three ranking. Our comparison links to the official sources and explains the trade-offs.

Which timer is useful for studying or focused work?

Choose a timer that is easy to set, pause and read without distracting you. PIXELLAS offers a full-screen duration timer and appearance controls. A 25-minute countdown can support a study session, but it does not automatically run repeated work-and-break cycles.

Which website can coordinate several timers?

timeanddate's official timer help describes simultaneous starts, simultaneous finishes, sequential timing and individual starts. PIXELLAS keeps a countdown in each workspace, but it does not provide those coordinated batch controls.

What is the difference between a timer and a stopwatch?

A timer counts down from a duration you set. A date countdown counts down to a specific date and time zone. A stopwatch counts up from zero to measure elapsed time and can record laps. Pick the tool that matches the direction you need.

Will my timer ring if I close the browser?

A closed page cannot guarantee an alarm. PIXELLAS saves the end time so it can calculate the remaining time when you return, but saving a deadline is different from delivering an alert while the page is closed. Keep the page open and test sound before relying on it.

Where are my timers and stopwatch saved?

PIXELLAS saves workspace and stopwatch state in this browser's local storage, without an account. It does not automatically sync to another device or browser. Clearing site data can remove it, and restricted or private browser modes may limit persistence.

Why can I not hear the timer?

Browsers generally require an interaction before allowing sound. Start the timer or click the page, check device volume and tab muting, and test a short countdown. The sound control also changes the ticking sound; a sleeping device or closed page may prevent the end alert.

How do I count down to a date in another time zone?

Open the date countdown, choose the target date and time, and select the time zone of the event. PIXELLAS stores that target as a specific instant. Other viewers or devices use the same instant when the same deadline is entered; saved workspaces are not shared automatically.
