# Date countdown FAQ: time zones, daylight saving and events | PIXELLAS

> Choose an event time zone, handle daylight-saving ambiguities and understand finished countdowns and sharing limits across devices.

Information checked: 2026-10-29

## Quick answer

For an event, enter its future date, local time and named time zone. PIXELLAS saves the resulting instant and rejects ambiguous daylight-saving inputs. Workspaces are not shared by URL, so send event details separately.

## Should I use a duration timer or a date countdown?

Use a duration timer for “10 minutes from now.” Use a date countdown for “the event at 18:00 in Tokyo.” The latter needs a calendar date and time zone; pausing it would not move the event itself.

## How do I create a countdown for an international event?

Enter the event’s future date and local time, then select its named time zone, such as Asia/Tokyo or America/New_York. Confirm those details with the organizer. PIXELLAS saves the resulting instant, rather than just the clock numbers.

## What happens during a daylight-saving clock change?

Some local times are skipped or occur twice when clocks change. PIXELLAS rejects these ambiguous or nonexistent inputs rather than choosing silently. Confirm an unambiguous event time in the selected zone, then enter it again.

## Can I share my saved event countdown with someone else?

Opening the same PIXELLAS URL does not transfer your workspace. Send the event’s date, local time and named time zone separately so the other person can enter the same deadline. After the target passes, remaining time stays at zero.
